50 Pence - Elizabeth II (Battle of Britain Gold Proof).50 Pence - Elizabeth II (5th portrait Battle of Britain). The design was re-issued in 2019 as part of the 5-coin British Military set celebrating 50 years of the 50p, this time with the denomination on the obverse. We are indebted to the numismatic website Change Checker and Numista member Sjoelund for sharing the graphic below: There were three distinct types issued for the 2015 Battle of Britain commemorative featuring three different obverses, two different compositions, with just one type being struck for circulation.
This design was also struck in silver piedfort and gold proof, while the copper-nickel fifth portrait also features the denomination. This particular type was only issued as individual pieces since the 2015 annual sets featured the Rank-Broadley obverse.
